I write under the pen name Gia Mawusi.

About Me

I was born in Mozambique, a vibrant African country nestled beside the Indian Ocean. My family left the country due to the unrest of the civil war, and I was raised in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal. Life is full of surprises, and I eventually found myself traveling and settling down in East Anglia, UK, where I currently reside.

I live in a quaint little town, surrounded by the Broads, the Bure and Yare rivers, and the North Sea. It’s the perfect place for me to indulge in my passions and interests. I’m a writer, a dreamer, and a sentient being who loves people, chocolate, books, music, dancing, eating, and laughing. I’m a loud, tactile, and communicative individual, and I believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

That being said, there are moments when I need to retreat to my bedroom, immerse myself in books, and escape into the fantastical worlds that exist in my mind. It’s during these times that I can fully be myself and recharge my batteries.

I find the human mind to be a fascinating place, and my own mind is often teeming with characters who are clamouring to make their debut on the page. I’m always curious about what motivates people and what drives them to do the things they do.

One of my greatest passions is sharing stories and connecting with the world around me. I firmly believe in the power of education, community work, and active participation. I’m committed to empowering myself and others through these means, and I’m constantly seeking new ways to contribute to the world around me.

Most recently, I’ve been exploring my creative side with renewed vigour. I’m letting go of my hang-ups and trusting that the tide will take me where I need to go. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me, and I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride.
